Walk to Malham Village
Tuesday Morning.
Got up at 7:00. Made sandwiches for lunch at 7:45 and then had breakfast from 8:15.
Overnight temperatures were about -4 C and it was quite windy.

We were all well wrapped up to face a sub zero wind.
Looking back at Tarn House across Malham Tarn.
The Tarn sits on a bed of slate, which underlies the limestone. Glaciation has removed the limestone in this area otherwise this water would be underground.
A short stop to examine a Glacial Erratic deposited some 10,000 years ago.

The stream starts to sink underground.
Stream disappearing into a sink hole.
The valley down to the top of Malham Cove.
The wall was originally built by monks some 800 years ago.
Stop for lunch.
